Welcome to the industry's first consignment platform! Our goal is to help DME/HME companies buy and sell high-quality products, initially focused on respiratory products. We send this list of equipment to over 1,000 DME/HME companies, biomed shops, SNFs, LTACs, and hospices every week.
If an item is listed as "refurbished", you can count on it being patient-ready and passed our stringent quality control process. If listed "as-is", you accept it that way. Sometimes we can send a sample.

For Buyers
Each listing includes a stated condition, photographs of the actual unit, and inspection notes. Additional photos, service records, and functional video are available on request.
Recall policy: units covered by an open FDA recall are sold only with the required service completed and documented — or as parts, labeled as parts.

Ameristart does not purchase equipment; it sells consigned equipment on the consignor's behalf. Units ship to the Somerset, New Jersey intake warehouse on the consignor's account and are inspected at no charge within five business days. An Offer Sheet states the expected sale price and the consignor's payout, and nothing is listed or repaired until the consignor approves it. When a unit sells, the consignor receives 70% of the net margin within 15 days of cleared funds.
Consign equipmentCondition Standard
The term "refurbished" has no standardized definition in the secondary equipment market. Ameristart lists every unit in one of two stated conditions; the condition appears on the listing and in the quote.
- New in Box
- Sealed in the original packaging, unused. Sold as received from the manufacturer or distributor; manufacturer warranty applies where offered.
- Patient Ready
- Cleaned, function-tested, and inspected before listing. Preventive maintenance completed where stated. Units within an open FDA recall or field safety notice are sold only with the required service completed and documented. Missing accessories, hours, and cosmetic condition are stated on the listing. 90-day Ameristart warranty where stated.
Sourcing & Quality Assurance
Direct sourcing
Inventory is acquired directly from clinics, resellers, and retiring practices, or accepted on consignment under published terms — not anonymous auction lots. Units with unverifiable histories are described as such in the listing notes.
Recall screening
Serial numbers are checked against the FDA recall database and manufacturer field safety notices before any unit is listed. No exceptions.
Documented condition
Function testing, as-is photography, and written condition notes on every listing. If a unit does not match its listing on arrival, Ameristart makes it right.
Equipment inquiries and consignment submissions are answered within one business day.
