Todd Tambling, Business Development Manager

My Value Proposition
I drive revenues of my CRO clients within the American Biotech and Pharmaceutical industry. For my newest client, a Phase 1 Unit, I secured a site visit from the new site evaluation team for preferred vendor status of a Top 10 Global Pharmaceutical giant within two months. For a Phase 2 – 3 CRO from CEE, I secured $10 million of RFPs during Q4, 2008.

My Background and Interests
After graduating from the University of Virginia, I served as a commissioned Field Artillery Officer in the Army, stationed in Germany, Korea, Saudi Arabia and Iraq (during Desert Storm).

After an Honorable Discharge, I began a 17 year career in Sales, Marketing, and Management in the Pharmaceutical industry with two large companies, Pfizer and Takeda. I lead and spearheaded the efforts to win formulary acceptance for an oral diabetes agent on TRICARE (the health program for the Department of Defense), resulting in $185 million in revenue annually.
My entrepreneurial spirit led me to leave Corporate America and start a small business in which I assisted small business owners to increase revenues and drive profitability by serving as their Business Coach. I increased my clients’ profit margins by an average of 24% during the first six months of coaching.
I returned to my love of science and selling in my current role as Business Development Manager at AmeriStart. My success has been fueled by continued self-improvement efforts. I have become a student of Jill Konrath (Selling to Big Companies), Jeffrey Gitomer (Little Red Book of Selling), and Jeff Jarvis (What Would Google Do). By putting my newly developed skills and knowledge into action, I have dramatically increased my effectiveness in lead generation, prospecting, email and voicemail communications, creating effective value propositions, and bringing value to the customer/client.
When I am not selling or reading, I enjoy spending time with family and friends. I love living in Charlotte, North Carolina and really enjoy the weather (I can play tennis nearly year round!) I enjoy cooking dinner on the grill for friends and sharing nice bottle of red wine. Travel is another passion and I will be heading to visit a friend in Acapulco this fall.
